Sunnie's Story...

During a thunderstorm, a man took cover at a Wal-Mart. As he stood waiting for the storm to pass, he witnessed a black SUV throw a puppy out of the moving car into the parking lot of the store … that was me, Sunnie. The man immediately came to help me. I was so scared but felt like I could trust him. I heard him say that he got the license plate of the car and would certainly be reporting it. He took the me home, dried me off and gave me food and water. I was so grateful! Unfortunately, he was leaving town the next day on business. He called a volunteer of Our Pal’s Place for assistance. Even though their mission is to save animals from death in county shelters, they also want to help people who are doing the right thing for the animals … like the man who rescued me! They agreed to take me and were able to quickly adopt me into a home where I flourished for two years. I loved my family so much that I began to protect them … that was my job! I thought that’s what they wanted … for me to love them as much as I thought they loved me. But, obviously I was wrong because they returned me to Our Pal’s Place. I was once again heartbroken. Now I don’t know who … if anyone … I can trust except my friends at O.P.P. The training team at O.P.P. assures me that they can help me adjust to a new home. I so want to believe that there is a home out there for me, but am scared my heart will be broken again. It’s going to take someone who is willing to get to know me and allow me time to trust and love them. At O.P.P., I have the most “pals” of any of the dogs … check out the pictures! Everyone loves me because I am a very good, loving and loyal girl!
