Marshall's Story...

It was a Wednesday afternoon and you could feel the stress in the shelter. When dogs are being put down, us other dogs can sense it. We know it’s nothing personal. The county workers are forced to make space for incoming dogs. Unfortunately, it’s dogs like me that are heartworm positive that become top of the kill list. Luckily, the county shelter workers diligently try to get us out and contacted Our Pal’s Place for help. Knowing I was next to be put down, they closed their ReHome Superstore so they could come get me before it was too late. When they arrived, I was taken into the bonding room and I gave it all I had! I showed them that I am fun-loving, enjoy interacting and well-mannered. Every so often, I would go to the door trying to encourage them to “let’s get out of here already”! And, we finally did! Once loaded in the O.P.P. mini-van, I immediately fell asleep … I was so relieved! I am a handsome boy with a great, well-rounded personality. I learn quickly and aim to please. Our Pal’s Place will cure me of heartworms thanks to their Save-A-Heart fund so no worries there! I just need a place to call home!
